Sarcoidosis and the Brain & Nervous System
- FREE SINGLE
COPY
Sarcoidosis
most commonly targets the lungs, but the disease can also affect many other
organs and systems. One of the systems it can affect is the nervous
system, which includes the brain, spinal cord and nerves throughout the body.
When sarcoidosis affects this system it is called neurosarcoidosis. Researchers
think
that neurosarcoidosis affects between 5 and 10 percent, and maybe even 15
percent of sarcoidosis patients. Symptoms can include seizures, behavior and
mood changes, vision problems and paralysis. This 20 page brochure was
produced with contributions raised by neurosarcoidosis patient Kirk Mease.
