Help FSR support our partners in the healthcare system during COVID-19
Like many healthcare systems across the country and world right now, FSR’s friends at National Jewish Health in Colorado are experiencing a shortage of Personal Protective Equipment, or PPEs. These PPEs, including masks, face shields, and other protective clothing are essential for the protection of the healthcare workers on the front lines of the COVID-19 pandemic.
National Jewish Health has launched a project to allow the general public to volunteer their time and skills to making masks for National Jewish Health. Due to the current mask shortage, NJH may choose to give homemade masks to those with confirmed or suspected COVID-19 to lower the risk that they will spread the disease to others; to people who are not infected but want to reduce the risk of contracting the disease; or to people who have no symptoms but they may be infected and spreading germs.
A team at National Jewish has a made a sewing pattern and instructions available online, as well as information on how to donate the masks in person or by mail. They are hoping to get 1500 masks donated by mid April. If you or someone you know has sewing skills, time to donate, or even materials to donate, please consider helping NJH on their mission to protect patients and the community from COVID-19.
