As a patient, you are key to advancing research! If you have- or think you might have- pulmonary hypertension along with your sarcoid, you may qualify for a nation-wide clinical trial where you will be financially compensated.
Now with new clinical trial sites located in many states- there may be one near you!
Researchers are testing bardoxolone methyl, an investigational drug that is proposed to have multiple benefits for patients. These potentially include anti-inflammatory and anti-fibrotic benefits. In addition, it is proposed that this investigational drug may improve mitochondrial function. Mitochondria are responsible in the cell for producing energy by consuming fat and sugars to produce energy. In previous clinical studies patients have experienced weight loss and improved sugar balance which further implicates increased mitochondrial function. This study will be closely monitored for safety and efficacy for bardoxolone methyl in all patients.
