What is Giving Tuesday?
Giving Tuesday comes on the heels of the infamous Black Friday and other designated shopping days like “Small Business Saturday” and “Cyber Monday.” However, instead of focusing on buying things, Giving Tuesday is all about giving back! It’s an opportunity to make some contribution- large or small, monetary or volunteering- to a charitable organization.
There are endless ways to participate in Giving Tuesday and help FSR as we accelerate research and provide education and advocacy for patients. You could donate just $5, or you could make a larger year-end (tax deductible!) gift. Don’t forget to see if your employer will match donations! It’s a great way to double your contribution. If you’re not sure if your employer matches gifts, check here at Double the Donation.
Your don’t have to make a direct donation to participate in Giving Tuesday- there are plenty of creative ways to contribute!
- Start a GoFundMe page to share your story and raise awareness
- Organize an independent fundraising event for 2017: bake sales, jeans days, fun runs and band bashes- the opportunities are endless!
- Register for a KISS walk, or host your own in your hometown
- Sign up as a volunteer for one of FSR’s 2017 Patient Conferences: if there’s a conference in your area next year, volunteer to help with planning the logistics
- Apply to be a patient ambassador for 2017: take our initial interest survey
- Set up and bookmark Amazon Smile on your browser: every time you shop on smile.amazon.com, a portion will be donated to FSR, at no cost to you!
