We are heartbroken. We are mourning the loss of our dear friend Rick Passaglia, who lost his battle with sarcoidosis on Monday. Rick was not only a treasured friend of FSR, but he touched our hearts as a loyal supporter, dedicated volunteer and tireless advocate. Whether coming into the office to help with a mailing, showing up for an event despite cruel weather, or just calling to say hi, Rick lit up our world – and thousands of other people’s as well. He was an inspiration to so many, fighting against the disease every day and keeping his smile and kind heart. This is devastating to us and to all his friends and family – but it only will strengthen our quest to get help for sarcoidosis patients. Not another person should lose their precious life to this disease. In honor of this great man, FSR has established the Rick Passaglia Memorial Fund. This fund will support the FSR Patient Ambassador Program, which provides outreach, education, and support from patients to patients. Rick’s family has asked that, in lieu of flowers, please send memorials to the FSR Rick Passaglia Memorial Fund.
