FSR is hosting our fifth annual Team KISS 5K Run/Walk in Atlanta, GA this year. This event helps raise awareness about sarcoidosis while also fundraising for critical research and patient support programs. But the event is more than just a walk- it’s a movement. We work with volunteers from all across the globe to help them start their own independent Team KISS walks that correspond with our event in April, Sarcoidosis Awareness Month. We even have a virtual walk option, where you can join in on the fun (and still nab a Team KISS t-shirt) even if you’re unable to attend an event in person! This way, sarc warriors and their loved ones from all corners of the US and abroad can join us as we Kick In to Stop Sarcoidosis!
This year, we’re highlighting some of our super awesome independent walks, like the Team KISS Walk in Cleveland! Read more about their event on April 21st below!
I am excited and grateful to see so much support and interest for the Cleveland KISS walk from the community, and family and friends. There is great momentum going forward as we head into the Sarcoidosis Awareness Month of April. Let’s all continue the charge as we KICK IN TO STOP SARCOIDOSIS!
Please join us for the first Team K.I.S.S (KICK IN TO STOP SARCOIDOSIS) CLEVELAND 5K/1M WALK FOR SARCOIDOSIS AWARENESS, sponsored by the Cleveland Clinic, Saturday, April 21st, at Wade Oval, 10600 East Blvd., in University Circle. Registration/check begins at 9 am and the walk kicks off at 10 am. You can participate to help improve the lives of Sarcoidosis patients looking for answers to this terrible disease. Dress as your favorite Superhero or wear purple to celebrate our Sarcoidosis Warriors at this fun, family oriented walk to raise awareness of this puzzling disease while raising funds for the Foundation for Sarcoidosis Research to find a cure.
You’ll enjoy views of the Cleveland Museum of Art lagoons for the one mile walk or continue on for the 5K walk around Severance Hall, home of the world renowned Cleveland Orchestra, past the Cleveland Botanical Gardens and back to Wade Oval for the post walk celebration.
What better way to spend this spring day enveloped in the beauty of Cleveland’s cultural center then walking with family and friends, uniting to make a difference for the 200,000 people in the U.S. affected by this rare disease.
With each step we take let’s celebrate the progress we’re making towards a cure at the Cleveland 5K/1M Walk for Sarcoidosis Awareness. To learn more, donate and/or register go to www.stopsarcoidosis.rallybound.org. Cost is $30 for adults, kids under 10 are free.
